To create a Salesianum Veteran’s Committee, as part of the Alumni Association, that will recognize and honor those many Salesianum alumni, both living and deceased, who honorably served in the US military.
We believe there is a large number of living alumni veterans and a larger number of deceased alumni veterans. This committee would help make alumni veterans and deceased alumni veterans’ families feel closer to the school and be valued parts of the school community.
Create and populate a database to gather information on living and deceased alumni veterans.
Honor and publicize the achievements of veteran alumni including creating a virtual wall of honor for all alumni veterans, living and deceased.
Seek an area in the school that could display memorabilia from alumni veterans.
Create and help execute activities and events that enhance camaraderie among alumni veterans, such as a Veterans Day mass at the school and a Memorial Day ceremony.
Assist with the unveiling of the outdoor Killed in Action memorial.
If possible and practical, provide support to individual alumni veterans and gold star families of alumni veterans. Recognize and support alumni who are serving on active duty.
Fully support the goals of the Alumni Association.
